“They have given so much for us”
Dartmouth Community Chest signed up to The Military Covenant at the Opening Ceremony of the 181st Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
“We have always tried to support our veterans and their families at the community cafe, they have given so much for us,” said Dartmouth Community Chest’s Dawn. “By signing the covenant we pledge to offer support, guidance, friendship and to help them navigate life back home. We will advocate for them to be treated fairly and have every opportunity as they try to find work and support.”
Dawn said: “It is our honour to do our part for the people who have served our country and now our community.”
Signing along side Dawn, were Lieutenant Colonel Ed Botterill (chairman, Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta); Cllr Graham Webb (mayor, Dartmouth Town Council); and John Milsom (chair, Dart Harbour & Navigation Authority).
All covenants were co-signed by Captain Simon Cox of Britannia Royal Naval College.
